With the 2024 summer season set to go, so are our Broome County Parks! We are fortunate to have so many great local parks to enjoy, not only during the summer season but most other seasons as well.

Brenda Gowe, Broome County Parks, Recreation and Youth Services Director, along with Broome County Executive Jason Garnar have announced the opening of the 2024 season.

The Memorial Day weekend is the official beginning of Broome County Parks for boating, swimming, and camping. Hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. to dusk each day.

This year, there will be several events and programs including Broome Bands Together, Movies in the Park, the Broome County Triathlon, the 5k series, Beach Bash, and the grand event of them all - Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally.

According to Gowe and Garnar, the following is available at Broome County Parks from the Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day:

 Boat Rentals -
7 days a week from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (last rental out at 6:30 p.m.)

Beaches -
7 days/week from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Concessions
Nathaniel Cole and Greenwood  Parks - 7 days a week from 11 a.m. to  7 p.m.

Camping
7 days a week at $28 a night plus a $5 reservation fee.

Pavilions
Available for rental at $30 on weekdays, $100 on weekends & holidays plus a $5 reservation fee.

A reminder from the Broome County Parks that all visitors are to follow park rules and practice proper etiquette when using trails, beaches, boats, and other park equipment.

Also, dogs are welcome in all parks but must be kept on a 6-foot leash and owners must clean up after their dog(s).
