The members of a Delaware County Islamic community that was threatened last year by a group saying it would bomb Islamberg in Hancock is filing a civil lawsuit against alleged conspirator Robert Doggart.

Muslims of America Incorporated has added the civil suit to the criminal charges against Doggart.

Doggart, who allegedly tried to recruit participants on-line in a plot to attack the Hancock Mosque and other facilities in the community compound using bombs, guns, fire and a machete, was indicted by a Federal Grand Jury in July.

Doggart ran unsuccessfully for Congress in 2014 and pleaded not guilty to solicitation to commit a civil rights violation.

He is undergoing mental evaluation and is tentatively scheduled to go on trial in Binghamton later this year.  The judge will meet in July with the prosecution and defense to talk about scheduling.
