Hunter Loses Rifle on Way from Pa. Deer Camp to New York State Line
A Massachusetts man, hunting in Northeast Pennsylvania, won’t be bagging any big game soon unless he finds his gun.
Pennsylvania State Police in Bradford County say the 72-year-old Boxford, Massachusetts man left his hunting camp on Broschart Road in Overton Township shortly before 9 a.m. November 28 and put his deer rifle in the back of his truck.
The man said he drove to Route 220 North to the New York State line and somewhere between his camp and the border, his gun apparently fell off the back of his truck.
Troopers say the guns is reported to be a Ruger .243 caliber bolt action rifle with a wood stock and Leopold-brand scope stored in a locked black case.
Anyone finding the firearm is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at (570) 265-2186.
