A Broome County discount movie theater will continue to offer several daily showings of "The Interview" in the coming week.

Amber Earle, the owner of Cinema Saver in Endicott, says the number of showtimes each day will be cut back from six to four starting tomorrow.

The movie's run at the Madison Avenue theater started last Friday.

Earle estimates that nearly 700 people have viewed "The Interview" at her venue over the last several days.

Earle says she's been surprised at the popularity of the daytime showings of the film.

For now, Earle expects to continue featuring the movie through the end of the month, although renewal decisions are made weekly.

Cinema Saver landed local rights for the Sony Pictures film after the major chain-operated theaters in Broome County decided not to run it when the movie was denounced by North Korea.
