A workshop on fair housing laws will be held in Binghamton this week.

The program at the Broome County Public Library will be for area human service providers.

Organizers of the training event say it is intended for those who work with people who may experience housing discrimination, including those with disabilities and families with children. Female-headed households, people of color and domestic violence victims also may encountering discrimination when seeking a place to live.

The workshop will be held Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the library at 185 Court Street.

The event is free but the organizers are asking those who plan to attend to register in advance. Registration may be done online HERE.

The fair housing rights workshop is sponsored by the City of Binghamton and CNY Fair Housing of Syracuse.
