House Ethics Committee Takes Up Reed Misconduct Investigation
The alleged sexual misconduct case against Southern Tier Congressman Tom Reed is now being looked at by the House Ethics Committee.
The move was announced Friday, April 9 after the Republican was accused of inappropriately touching a female lobbyist at a networking event at a Minneapolis pub in 2017.
Reed apologized to Nicholette Davis who claimed the Congressman had unhooked her bra while she was a 25-year-old lobbyist. He said he had been struggling at the time and has admitted to battling alcohol issues.
The 23rd District Congressman, who earlier announced he would not seek reelection, had been seen as a possible contender to face Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo. He has since said he would not seek any elected office.
Reed’s office has not commented on the House Ethics Committee investigation.
