Workers Injured in Hazardous Materials Incident on Binghamton’s West Side

Few details are available concerning the nature of a hazardous materials incident on Binghamton's West Side.

Emergency Services officials say Binghamton fire and law enforcement personnel were called to Floral and West End Avenues at around 8:30 a.m. July 11 with a report of a strong odor of chemicals coming from a garbage truck.

Traffic is being routed around the area.

There are reports four workers were taken to the hospital for evaluation after being exposed to a combination of chemicals.
