Hamden Child Dies Following ATV Crash

A child who crashed an All Terrain Vehicle in Delaware County April 21 has died as a result of head injuries.

Sheriff’s officials say 11 year old Nicholas Dungan of Hamden passed away at Albany Medical Center April 24.

The child suffered injuries when the ATV rolled over on him as he and his eight year old brother were riding on Stoddard Hollow Road near the family home.

Deputies say Dugan tried to take a right-hand turn too fast and lost control of the vehicle.

The younger brother ran home to alert authorities after the ATV rolled over into a ditch, pinning Nicholas.
