A driver and bus monitor were taken to the hospital. The extent and nature of their injuries was not mentioned in the post but the district said there were no students involved.

The district vehicle reportedly left the road and hit a tree.

Superintendent Timothy Calice thanked first responders from Smithville and Greene for their service and said the Greene School District was sending positive thoughts to the two hurt in the crash.

Officials in the Chenango County Office of Emergency Services had no official information about the incident available early January 22.
