The Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 31st annual Labor and Employment Law Update in Johnson City October 16.

The event gives small businesses a chance to learn how to avoid problems in an environment of changing laws and regulations.  Topics this year include the new pay equity law and marijuana in the workplace. Other topics involve overtime and regular rate updates, handbook rules, benefits, worker’s compensation and an update on the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

The fee is $35 for Chamber members and $75 for non-members.  The event takes place from 7:30 to 11 a.m. at Traditions at the Glen on Watson Boulevard.
