Motorists and people living near the Greater Binghamton Airport should not be concerned if they suddenly see a lot of what appears to be emergency equipment and personnel headed to the air field May 22.

The airport is performing its Triennial Emergency Drill with supporting agencies.

The exercise is required every three years for all commercial service airports.

Fire companies, law enforcement and ambulance services participate in the training that simulates a large plane crash with several victims and is intended to practice response to the worst-case Scenario at the airport.

The drill is not open for public viewing but it bears mentioning so people know what is going on if they see a lot of emergency equipment heading to the airport in the Town of Maine in the morning.
