Great Bend Man Accused of Driving While Impaired by Drugs in Kirkwood

A Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania man is facing charges in Broome County after Sheriff’s Deputies say they saw a car speeding, tail-gaiting and swerving from lane to lane on Interstate 81 southbound in the Town of Kirkwood March 2.

Officials say after they stopped Dennis McCann of Great Bend, they observed signs of impairment and the Deputy suspected McCann was under the influence of something other than alcohol.  A Drug Recognition Expert later determined the man indeed was under the influence of illicit drugs.

McCann is charged with felony counts of driving while ability impaired by drugs with a prior conviction and aggravated unlicensed operation as well as speeding, moving from lane unsafely and following too closely.

He’s been ordered to appear in Town of Kirkwood Court at a later date.
