Governor Cuomo Leads Aid Delegation to Puerto Rico
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is on a short trip out of the state to look at damage caused by a natural disaster over 1,700 miles away.
The Democrat left for Puerto Rico January 14, leading a delegation to survey the damage caused by recent earthquakes and aftershocks.
The Governor announced during an appearance in Airmont, in Rockland County January 13 that he will be looking at what New York can do to help in the aftermath of the disaster that has left hundreds of thousands of people on the island without power and water.
Cuomo last week directed the New York Power Authority to assist in the recovery efforts alongside the Puerto Rican Electric Power Authority.
The governor plans to be back in New York State January 15.
