Free Family Fun in Broome County Parks Through August
Drug Free Communities is launching its 13th annual month of Family Fun Nights in the Park.
The free community nights for families include snacks, interactive activities, information from agencies in the area and even some giveaways.
August 8, the first event is at the South Shelter of Otsiningo Park in the Town of Dickinson. A shuttle service is running from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. from the Lee Barta Center on Liberty Street, Town & Country Apartments on Roberts Street and Cheri Lindsey Park on Truesdell Street.
The next event is at C.F.J. Park in Johnson City on the 15th. Family Fun Night August 22nd will be at North Side Park in Endicott and the August 29th event is scheduled for Klumpp Park in Windsor.
All the events are from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. barring threatening weather. Organizers say if a gathering has to be called due to weather, it will NOT be rescheduled.
Family Fun Nights started in 2006 with KYDS Coalition to help strengthen ties in the community and give families a safe way to gather in their neighborhoods without having to spend money.
