Former Broome Fire Coordinator Mike Aswad Has Died

Broome County’s long-time Director of Emergency Services and Fire Coordinator, Michael Aswad has passed away.

A transmission on emergency services/police radio this morning marked the passing of Aswad, who served as coordinator from 1981 until his retirement in 2006.

No details of his passing are available.

Broome County’s emergency services building on Wayne Street in Endwell in 2018 was dedicated as the Michael F. Aswad Emergency Services Special Operations and Training Facility in his honor.
