The Broome County Health Department is holding one more flu clinic for people who have yet to obtain their seasonal shot.

A clinic was held Monday afternoon at the health department offices at 225 Front Street in Binghamton.

The final scheduled clinic is planned for the health department site on Monday, December 3 from three to five in the afternoon.

Health officials note that influenza can result in hospitalization and sometimes causes death.

They say an annual flu shot is viewed as the best way to avoid the disease.

Annual flu shots are recommended for children and adults. The vaccinations are especially important for some people regarded as at risk. Those groups include young children, pregnant women, people with weakened immune systems, people with chronic diseases and older adults.
