The Binghamton Mets continue to play like they are on a mission as they crushed the Bowie Baysox August 5, 9-2 at NYSEG Stadium.  Bowie is the top team in the Western Division.  The B-Mets remain the top club in the Eastern Division.  Binghamton is 13 games over .500 at 61-48 and that puts the B-Mets up by 1.5 games over Reading and 3.5 games over Trenton. Binghamton is 7-3 in their last 10 games and have won two straight contests.Jared King has gotten a lot more playing time in the last couple of weeks and is a big reason for Binghanton's hot offense.  King has driven in 12 runs in his last 14 games.  Tonight, Rainy Lara makes the start for Binghamton.  Lara is 5-3 with a 3.58 ERA.

Bowie managed to avoid a sweep of the series with a win over Binghamton August 6 4-2.

The Trenton Thunder meets Binghamton at NYSEG Stadium for three consecutive games beginning August 7.

Also, during the first game, the Broome Sports Foundation will hold its annual memorabilia and collectibles auction in the concourse behind home plate. Dozens of items are up for bid including autographs from Hall of Famers, signed photos and  jerseys.  The auction is going to be held before and during much of the game. Proceeds benefit the Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund.
