Police Seize Firearm And Narcotics In Binghamton

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant on November 15th, 2023 in apartment 3 of 24 Robinson Street Binghamton, where several items were located.

According to a release from the City of Binghamton Police Department, investigators discovered a loaded .32 caliber handgun, approximately 2.4 ounces of fentanyl, 1.5 ounces of methamphetamine, one ounce of cocaine, 110 Suboxone Strips, $4,500 in suspected drug proceeds, one soft body armor, a suspected narcotics press and items used for weighing and packaging narcotics.

Three persons were arrested, taken to the Binghamton Police Department, and processed on several charges - Rayshawn J. Thompson, Derrick Brooks, and Brandy Myers.

Rayshawn Thompson was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (14 counts)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree (4 counts)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (1 count)
- Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree (4 counts)
- Unlawful Purchase of Body Armor (1 count)

Derrick J. Brooks was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (14 counts)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree (4 counts)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (1 count)
- Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree (4 counts)
- Unlawful Purchase of Body Armor (1 count)

Brandy Myers was charged with:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree (13 counts)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th degree (4 counts)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree (1 count)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (1 count)
- Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd degree (4 counts)
- Unlawful Purchase of Body Armor (1 count)
