Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at a home in Triangle May 20 that extensively damaged the structure.

Broome County Emergency Services Communications reports 15 units ranging from about a half dozen fire companies to law enforcement and medical technicians responded to the report of the blaze on County Line Road at 7:15 p.m.

Fire companies called to the scene were Triangle, Whitney Point, Lisle, Maine, Chenango and Killawog.

While the blaze was brought under control in less than an hour, fire crews didn’t leave the scene until about 11 p.m.

Officials said the fire was especially difficult to put out due to the metal roof on the house trapping the heat.

No one was home at the time and there were no injuries reported.
