FedEx Truck Crash Slows Traffic in I-81 Work Zone Near Binghamton
A crash involving a FedEx delivery truck snarled Interstate 81 traffic in a construction area in the town of Dickinson.
The FedEx Ground vehicle was southbound when it veered off the highway into the median around 2:25 p.m. Monday.
The crash scene was at the Exit 5 Front Street interchange just north of the city of Binghamton.
New York State Police requested an ambulance to respond to evaluate the man who had been driving the truck.
Southbound traffic on I-81 was backed up as the left lane near the crash site was closed.
Traffic circles are being constructed at the interchange as part of a multi-year project to improve traffic flow in the area of the Front Street exit.
