Federal Money Coming for Binghamton Taxiway Improvements
Over $6 million is coming to the Greater Binghamton Airport to develop a new taxiway by rehabilitating and connecting two existing ones.
U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand along with Congressman Anthony Brindisi announced $6.4 million from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program for improvements at Broome County's airport.
Schumer says keeping airports in shape is critical to safe travel and attracting business and tourism. The Democrat called the funding a “significant federal investment.”
