Fatal Stabbing at Cortland Motel Investigated
Cortland County Sheriff’s officials are investigating a fatal stabbing at a motel in Cortlandville.
Authorities say 31-year-old Attius Clakeley Jr. of Cortland suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest at the Cortland Motel on Route 11 at 7:20 a.m. March 2.
48-year-old John G.W, Goss of Cortland was also taken to Guthrie Cortland Medical Center with a stab wound. He was transferred to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and released at around 3:30 p.m.
Investigators say they believe the two men were the only ones involved in the incident.
Goss is charged with felony counts of murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
The investigation is continuing.
