Firefighters and law enforcement escorts are providing a motorcade to accompany the body of Watertown Firefighter Peyton Morse who died suddenly during training.

An escort was organized to accompany Morse March 15 from Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre to Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton then on to Watertown.

The 21-year-old died March 12 following an incident March 3 at the New York State Fire Academy.

New York State Police investigating the incident say Morse was participating in a Recruit Firefighter Training program at the academy in Montour Falls on March 3 when he suffered a "medical emergency."

The escort route was to travel from Sayre, east on Route 17/I86 to Johnson City, to Route 201, the traffic circle and Riverside Drive to Lourdes then was to travel midday on I81 north to Watertown.
