Erie County Man Accused of Tossing Pot Onto Route 17 in Hancock
A Western New York man is accused of trying to outrun New York State Police on Old Route 17 in the Town of Hancock and tossing a large amount of marijuana out of the window of his vehicle.
A Trooper on patrol saw a vehicle make an illegal U-turn shortly at 7:38 a.m. November 28 and tried to make a traffic stop.
Authorities say 23-year-old Jose Izaguirre of Clarence Center, Erie County, allegedly failed to comply and fled onto Route 17 west at Exit 89.
Troopers deployed a tire deflation device, which Izaguirre reportedly managed to dodge, but eventually stopped at Exit 79 where he was taken into custody.

State Police say the man threw a bag out of the window while he was fleeing authorities. The bag, containing over a pound of marijuana, was found by police on the highway.
Izaguirre is charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana and was ordered to appear in the Town of Hancock Court next month.
