The Endicott Police Department is becoming more user-friendly.

On the heels of a new, nightly alert on social media reminding residents to lock up, often with creative and entertaining “memes,” the Department has gotten its first upgrade to its website in six years.

Chief Patrick Garey says the professionally designed site at endicottpolice.com is now mobile compatible on any device and will soon add new interactive alert features telling specific neighborhoods about everything from crime incidents to street closures.

Chief Garey says as more people turn to mobile devices for information, the Police Department can reach more and specific groups through the website, alerts and apps.  He says in the future, residents may also be able to subscribe to ways to share information with police and neighbors if they choose.  Some of that information could become a helpful piece of a police investigation.

The new website now includes a section for general information, permits, tips and even an informative slide-show history of the department by clicking on “About."
