Authorities say a suspect has been charged in connection with a shooting incident in Endicott.

According to a news release from village police, 19-year-old Ja-King Carter of Endicott was arrested with the assistance of Binghamton police.

Carter has been accused of firing multiple rounds from a handgun toward someone on Arthur Avenue, south of East Main Street. Police said the incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on April 10.

Investigators said the shots were fired in the direction of occupied Arthur Avenue homes. No injuries were reported.

Carter was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Endicott police on Thursday announced the charges Carter is facing. He was arrested on May 23.

Carter is being held at Broome County Jail.
