The boil water order remains in effect in the Ely Park water service area in the City of Binghamton but residents no longer have to conserve their usage.

The Water Conservation Alert was lifted yesterday morning but the order for residents not to drink or use the water for cooking, washing dishes or brushing teeth is still in effect.

That order could be lifted October 7.

The Ely Park reservoir has been filling for the past few days, prompting the lifting of the conserve alert but the Water Department is still looking for the necessary two clear tests of the water quality before lifting the boil order.
