A bridge replacement project in the town of Colesville will mean some longer trips for drivers in eastern Broome County for more than ten weeks.

The county Department of Public Works is advising motorists that a bridge on East Windsor Road over a Susquehanna River tributary near Hartz Road is expected to close next Wednesday.

Officials say drivers on East Windsor Road or Route 7 who want to cross the river will follow a posted detour. The detour is expected to be in place through late January.

The old bridge is to be removed and a new span will be constructed at the site. The work is to be done by G. DeVincentis Construction.
