Police say a driver was drunk when a car went through a stop sign and crashed into a fire hydrant in the Town of Windsor.

Authorities say 30-year-old Melissa Woodrow of Windsor was arrested around 9 p.m. August 15 following the collision at Maple Avenue and New Street.

According to state police, Woodrow was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and other traffic violations.

Investigators did not indicate whether the driver sustained any injuries.

Woodrow was ordered to appear in Windsor town court on August 25.
