A man who was driving a septic truck was injured when he lost control of the vehicle in the town of Windsor.

Authorities say 26-year-old Brett Welch of New Milford was trapped for a time in the cab of the truck after it overturned on Grange Hall Road around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

According to New York State Police, the crash happened on a slippery roadway a short distance west of Bush Hill Road.

Windsor assistant fire chief John McNulty said the driver was able to extricate himself from the truck.

Welch was transported to Barnes-Kasson Hospital in Susquehanna for treatment of what appeared to be minor injuries.

There was no significant leakage of the contents of the septic truck, which is owned by Suburban Septic & Excavating Services of Kirkwood.
