Detours now are in place on State and Hawley streets as crews prepare to begin demolition work at the Collier Street parking garage.

Fencing and concrete construction barriers have been set up in the area of the Binghamton Governmental Plaza.

Lane restrictions and sidewalk closings will affect drivers and pedestrians near the Broome County Courthouse.

Collier Street is closed to all vehicular traffic, although a sidewalk remains open.

Asbestos is being removed from the crumbling parking ramp this week. Crews from Gorick Construction are expected to start the actual demolition work on Monday.
