Dos Rios Cantina Restaurant Opening in Downtown Binghamton

A long-awaited Mexican restaurant is about to open on Court Street in Binghamton.

Workers at Dos Rios Cantina have been busy with training over the past couple of weeks.

The restaurant and bar at the corner of Court and State streets is the first business to set up operations in the building that had been home to a Family Dollar store.

The owners of Dos Rios Cantina say a soft opening is being held this week. They expect to be open for the general public by early next week.

About 70 employees have been hired by the business, which initially will be open every day except Monday.

Developer Yaron Kweller, one of several partners involved in the project, says the restaurant has a seating area of about 3,000 square feet.

Kweller says additional businesses are planning to open in the building in coming months.
