A Delaware County woman is accused of resisting arrest after allegedly not paying a bill at a Delhi humane society and fleeing with her dog.

Sheriff’s officials say they saw 55 year old Kathryn Southerton and her dog in a field next to the Heart of the Catskills Humane Society December 15 and the Delhi woman ran off.

Authorities they attempted to arrest Southerton as she tried to flee into the river near State Highway 10 and she refused to cooperate.

Deputies say in addition to a resisting arrest charge, Southerton was charged with petit larceny.
