Man Pleads Guilty to Aggravated Vehicular Assault in Delaware County
Andras Kasuba, a 50-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, has pleaded guilty to Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a Class C Felony, in Delaware County Court on December 17, 2024.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on March 18, 2023, on Highway 26 just north of Gregory Hollow Road, which left multiple individuals with serious physical injuries.
According to Deputy Lucas Elmore of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, who responded to the motor vehicle crash scene, Andras Kasuba was identified as the driver responsible for the collision. Three individuals required extraction via helicopter due to the severity of their injuries. Further investigation revealed that Mr. Kasuba was intoxicated at the time of the crash, with a blood alcohol content measuring 2.5 times the legal limit.
During court proceedings on December 17, 2024, Andras Kasuba entered a guilty plea to the most severe charge of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a Class C Felony, and to Driving While Intoxicated, an Unclassified Misdemeanor. The case has been adjourned for sentencing, and the defendant has been remanded to the custody of the Delaware County Sheriff.
