Broome County Executive Debra Preston is hoping to move forward development on Airport Road that has been talked about for years.

In her State of the County address, the Republican said the county will break ground this spring to bring water, sewer and utilities to the airport corridor as a step closer to creating a corporate park near the airport.

Job creation was a cornerstone of the executive’s annual address.

The County Executive also reiterated that there are no plans to close the Willow Point Nursing Home but the county is looking at better ways to run the facility.

Operations of the county bus service, BC Transit, is also under study.

Some of those listening to the address said they really didn’t hear anything new.
