Governor Andrew Cuomo has won the Democratic party nomination as he seeks a second, four-year term.

Cuomo received 62 percent of the vote in Tuesday's New York State primary. Fordham Law School professor Zephyr Teachout received 34 percent of the votes cast, while political activist Randy Credico received 3.6 percent.

The Democratic primary race for lieutenant governor was closer. Former western New York congresswoman Kathy Hochul, who is Cuomo's pick to succeed Robert Duffy, received 60 percent of the vote. Columbia Law School professor Tim Wu, Teachout's lieutenant governor choice, received 40 percent of the vote.

Cuomo and Hochul will face Republicans Rob Astorino and Christopher Moss in the November 4 general election.
