COVID Rapid Testing Site Opens in Waverly
A free COVID-19 rapid testing site is being set up in Waverly.
The State Department of Health, Tioga County Health Department, Guthrie Healthcare and Village of Waverly are offering the testing at the Waverly Village Hall October 21 from noon to 6 p.m., October 22 & 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Those wanting to be tested must pre-register at covid19tiogacountyny.com or call 687-8600.
Officials say people who sign up for a test should plan to report to their scheduled time promptly to avoid slowing down the process. Testing does not require a doctor’s order and you do not have to be a resident of Tioga County to register.
When arriving on site, those scheduled for testing will wait for further instruction from the staff before entering the building. Masks are required to be worn when exiting their vehicle and at all times inside the building.
Broome County’s mobile rapid testing bus October 19 moved from the West Side of Binghamton to Saint Mary’s Church in Kirkwood where testing is being done from 1 to 7 p.m. through October 21. The retrofitted BC Transit bus then moves to Saint Patrick’s Church in Whitney Point for testing October 22 & 23 from 1 to 7 p.m.
Appointments are required by signing up at gobroomecounty.com or by calling 211.
