A Cortland man is accused of driving while impaired by drugs with a two year old child in the vehicle.

25 year old David Hartwick Junior was arrested at 1:49 p.m. February 23 in the Village of Homer after Sheriff’s Deputies received a report of a man acting in a suspicious manner at the Express Mart.

Hartwick is facing two felony counts, five misdemeanor charges and a traffic infraction for driving without a license.

Deputies say they determined Hartwick was driving while under the influence of drugs but the child was not hurt.

Hartwich reportedly had amphetamine and a hypodermic in his possession.

He was sent to the Cortland County Jail on $2,000 bail. The child was turned over to relatives.
