In a posting on the health department facebook page, officials say staff is helping current patients of the clinic to transfer to other healthcare providers.

The clinic has served as a resource for family planning, education, preventative care S-T-I evaluation and treatments and contraception for residents for years but has found many of those services have been picked up by community agencies like the Home Care Agency, Hospice and the Maternal Child Health Program.

The Health Department has planned to slowly transition out of the Jacobus Center over several months but the COVID-19 pandemic, staff resignations and retirements moved the process up.

Current patients who need help to transition to local healthcare providers can call (607) 753-5027 for help.
