Cortland County Man Accused of Scrapping Huge Amounts of Hot Metal
A Cortland County man is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars-worth of metal from a Chenango County business and selling it for scrap.
36-year-old Clinton Hill of Willet was arrested by Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies on Tuesday.
Authorities say Hill allegedly took aluminum fixtures and tooling from a business in the Town of Pitcher worth over 200-thousand dollars. Over eight-thousand pounds of stolen material was recovered from scrap facilities in Broome County.
Hill is charged with grand larceny. He was scheduled to return to Town of Pitcher Court at a later date.
