Conklin Home Destroyed by Fire

Officials are investigating the cause of a fire May 25 that destroyed a home on Stillwater Road in Conklin.

A half-dozen people were in the house when the fire broke out shortly before 8 p.m. in the rear of the structure and quickly spread. There were no injuries reported.

Over a half dozen companies responded to the scene and were at the site for several hours.

The home was a total loss and the residents are said to have lost everything.

According to a report on 12 News, the Broome County Dance Center on Charles Street in Binghamton is collecting donations for the family between the hours of 4:30 and 8 p.m. through May 30.
