Confirmed Coronavirus Case in Broome County
County officials are telling people to only travel if they need to after a case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Broome County.
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar announced on Tuesday that the person is from outside Broome County, but is being treated at UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.

The county is currently reaching those who may have been in contact with the person, but would not release any details about the person, citing patient privacy laws.
Lourdes and UHS are working together to implement testing and visitation procedures.
Garnar also issued an emergency order that prohibits unnecessary travel. He also advises people to stay home, avoid groups of people, and contact with others.
The following county locations are currently closed to the public:
- Floyd L Maines Veterans Memorial Arena
- Broome County Forum
- Broome County Office of Employment and Training
- Broome County Clerk's Office (DMVs will remain open, but limited to 10 customers at a time
- Broome County Library
- Senior Centers
