Community Rally’s Around Hit and Run Dog
The small-town community of Cortland has big hearts and after a hit and run injured an dog named Sam the love came pouring in from the crown city.
A few days ago a person witnessed a hit and run accident that left an elderly dog injured, the person wrapped the dog up in a blanket and took him to the Cortland County SPCA where officers cared for the dog named “Sam”
According to a news release, a GoFundMe account was created to take donations to help with the care and recovery of Sam, who is described as a sweet, elderly boy who was already trying to escape his crate to cuddle staff members.
The GoFundMe account was set up to try and raise $3000.00, but the Cortland community went above and beyond and raised over $4,000.00.
The story had spread and became so popular that it was instrumental in helping the Cortland County SPCA locate the actual owners and set up a reunion.
GoFundMe is a not for profit website that allows people to raise money for all types of events from celebrations to illnesses it is the number one fund raising platform in America.
