Broome County Sheriff’s officials say a Binghamton man is being held without bail following that chase through the streets of the City of Binghamton at around 1:40 a.m. July 6.

Deputies say they tried to stop 21 year old Rashid Patterson on Broad Avenue but he sped off and ran intersections with authorities in pursuit.

He was stopped on Chenango Street near Prospect Street and authorities said they found 29 bags of heroin and marijuana. They say they also found he had a violation of probation warrant from the City of Binghamton.

A passenger in the car was also questioned, but not charged.

Patterson is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, violation of probation, unlawfully fleeing police, reckless driving, unlawful possession of marijuana and several vehicle and traffic law violations.
