Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say Jason Rice was reportedly driving north on Route 26 in the Town of Cincinnatus when he went into the oncoming lane near the intersection of Route 41 and forced a southbound motorist off the road to avoid a collision.

Authorities say Rice continued another 3/4 of a mile, before losing control, hitting a ditch and a mailbox.  His vehicle flipped onto its roof in the middle of the road.

Rice is charged with three counts of driving while intoxicated, four counts of driving under the influence of drugs, failure to keep right and speeding.

Rice was treated at Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City for minor injuries.

He’s to appear in Town of Cincinnatus Court at a later date.
