The driver of a Delaware County camp bus is being cited after the bus rear-ended a tractor trailer on West Front Street in Hancock June 27.

The bus is owned by Camp Morasha of Lakewood, Pennsylvania and was driven by 78 year old Richard Weaver of Bethany, Pennsylvania.

All campers had already been dropped off in Hancock when the bus rammed the rig driven by 47 year old Shawn Smith of Chula Vista, California.

There were no reports of injuries.

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say Weaver was issued traffic summonses for following too closely, failure to keep right and New York State Transportation Law violations including failure to have a U.S. DOT number and the carrier’s name displayed on the bus.

Deputieis say the bus was towed away since the driver did not have a medical certification on file as required by transportation law and failed to maintain log books

Both drivers face some action against their commercial licenses regarding safety and log book deficiencies.
