Binghamton is preparing for Santa’s arrival in the Parlor City for the start of the holiday season.

The annual Boscov’s Holiday parade steps off at Main and Arthur Streets at 1:30 p.m. November 23. The march proceeds east on Main Street over the Court Street Bridge through downtown to the Broome County Courthouse.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Season of Kindness.”

Santa will hold court following the parade in the department store’s toy department from 3 to 4 p.m. for photos with children.

The Binghamton march kicks off the holiday parade season.  The Johnson City Business and Professional Women Association’s Annual Holiday Parade will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 5th on Main Street with the 10th annual Lights on the Carousel from 5 to 8 p.m. December 6 and 7 and December 13 and 14.

The 80th annual Endicott Holiday Parade on Washington Avenue will be Saturday, December 7 at 4 p.m. followed by Holiday Magic on the Avenue.

Owego is sparkling with its Lights on the River festival on the evening of December 6 in the downtown shopping district with Santa and Mrs. Claus roaming the streets bringing cheer to shoppers enjoying a variety of family-oriented activities.
