Youth programs in Broome County are getting a $190,000 boost.

The Broome Youth Bureau says it has New York State Office of Children and Family Services Youth Development funds available for those serving the needs of young people in the County.

Typical grants in the past have ranged from $100 to as much as $20,000.

This year, programs must be able to exhibit measurable outcomes and address areas of need.

The state is no longer setting aside funds specifically for municipalities.  Programs run by municipalities also have to respond to the RFP solicitation.

Programs can target young people ages zero to 21.

Documents about the program can be found at the county parks website at www.gobroomecounty.com/parks.

Applications have to be received by the Youth Bureau no later than 4 p.m. on March 9.
