The owner of a Binghamton area taxi company is accused of operating without a license and illegally getting over $80,000 in Medicaid payments.

43 year old Darin Cox of Vestal is charged with grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing.

According to the New York State Attorney General’s office, Cox had a suspended license and falsely submitted forms indicating his taxi business had all the necessary documents for operating in Broome County.

Eric Schneiderman’s office also says Cox’s taxi company collected money from the Medicaid program for transporting patients to medical appointments while it lacked proper licensing.
