The first-place Binghamton Mets hosted the Trenton Thunder att NYSEG Stadium August 7 in a heartbreaker that saw the Thunder roll past the Mets in the 11th inning 6-3.  Trenton and Reading are battling Binghamton for the top spot in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League.

Fans attending the game participated in a silent auction being held by the Broome Sports Foundation to benefit the Tommy Mitchell Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Dozens of items were up for bid.

Items included autographs from Hall of Fame members such as Ferguson Jenkins and Bill Dickey and numerous autographed photos and awards.
